I don't do house calls, so forget it. Holy Family (Catholic) High School, Denver, Colorado. Class of '68 rules!!!!!!!!!! Holy Family started jacking tuition big time in the 90's. Most of my kids had to go to public school. Holy Family High School and Regis Jesuit High School have both relocated from Northwest Denver to the rich suburbs. Mostly rich kids are the only ones going to H.F. these days, along with Regis High School. In my opinion, these unaffordable Catholic schools and many others (like St. Mary's Academy in Littleton Colorado) became unaffordable because nuns were never given any real power to control the church or the Catholic schools which were mostly staffed by nuns. The dwindling numbers of nuns teaching in schools kept decreasing through the 60's and onward. By 2016 only four or five percent of Catholic school teachers were nuns. Without power to make significant changes within Catholic schools or the church, the nuns started to wise up in the late 50's and 60's. Why would any nun, who gets paid next to nothing, put up with priests making all the significant decisions. Nuns take vows of poverty priests do not. Priests have liquor cabinets, garaged cars, and housekeepers. Nuns may have gotten lip service appreciation, but nun's opinions were never truly appreciated. As a result, more and more better paid civilian teachers came in because there were fewer and fewer nuns. Also many many Catholic schools have closed. Had these nuns been given the respect all women deserve, equal salary and control over their own jobs, I'm sure most schooling choices today would be Catholic kindergarten through high school. Charter schools would mostly fail due to the fact that nuns would give much more value and quality in education. I'm sure that these growing numbers of nuns would also respect the secular aspect of education, reserving the religious teaching as purely voluntary in elective classes. Those stupid priests ruined the impact of a potentially hugely immense educational experience taught by nuns. Priests have ruined the career choice of becoming a nun. Had nuns not been deprived of decision making there would be growing numbers and excitement among those courageous women who would choose the freedom and power to transform our world as a nun. Glad I'm not working for "da man" any longer. They always wanted more and faster. Besides, I never worked for them, I just worked for me. I did work hard and fast most every day, but it was only for my own enjoyment of hard work, and to make the time clock fly by. 60 Yuma St. Denver, CO 80223 1975 to 1977: Colorado State Highways (Colorado Department of Transportation) 4201 E.
